So much here I relate to and I appreciate the vulnerability and openness in this piece.
But on a lighter note, my attention snagged on the fact that you know euchre. I’ve never met anyone not related to me who has even heard of it. We teach all our friends it’s a right of passage for anyone who marries in, so NOW they know…
Oh this cracks me up. Euchre is a major deal in our family in the Midwest. Our son lives on the East Coast and has discovered a euchre meet up. Our family has stupid and I mean stupid traditions lime everyone playing must wear a hat. And things said at certain times during or after a game. I myself do not play but everyone else does plus of course I married a euchre player. Thanks so much for reading and reaching out.
My mother is 98 and has dementia. My two brothers and me visit her at least once a week at the seniors' residence she now lives. Yet, she feels lonely and abandoned because ten minutes after we leave, she doesn't remember our visit. We are so sad that this is how she is experiencing the end of her life.

This is so kind and loving. You are more like her than you know. She visited now because she knows you’ve been through a lot lately 💕🌹
I loved this, Amy.

If I remember correctly, Records and I were 1977 Hurst Hall Euchre Champions.
I felt like I was in the room observing this entire story. Well done!
