So much here I relate to and I appreciate the vulnerability and openness in this piece.

Oh this cracks me up. Euchre is a major deal in our family in the Midwest. Our son lives on the East Coast and has discovered a euchre meet up. Our family has stupid and I mean stupid traditions lime everyone playing must wear a hat. And things said at certain times during or after a game. I myself do not play but everyone else does plus of course I married a euchre player. Thanks so much for reading and reaching out.

This is so kind and loving. You are more like her than you know. She visited now because she knows you’ve been through a lot lately 💕🌹

My mother is 98 and has dementia. My two brothers and me visit her at least once a week at the seniors' residence she now lives. Yet, she feels lonely and abandoned because ten minutes after we leave, she doesn't remember our visit. We are so sad that this is how she is experiencing the end of her life.
